Treatment of Varicella-Zoster vaccine?
Varicella-zoster vaccine or chickenpox vaccine is used to prevent chickenpox in young children. Chickenpox is a viral disease of childhood, where on infection, the child develops small fluid-filled rashes all over the body. These rashes are accompanied by fever and tiredness, and the rashes dry and fall off, leaving behind scars. Later in life, it can come back as shingles under stressful conditions.
Two doses of varicella-zoster can provide lifelong immunity against the virus lifelong.
Symptoms of Varicella
Infection with chickenpox is common in childhood, especially in school-going children. It is usually a mild disease; we can manage it at home with isolation and some anti-inflammatory medication. It usually presents as

- Headache
- Rash is like a small blister on a red base or a scab.
The infection resolves completely in 2-3 weeks and the scab falls off. It can be serious for infants under 12 months of age, adults, pregnant females, adolescents, and people with immune deficiencies. They can get brain infections, lung infections, and distress and die. Therefore, they need continuous hospitalization and monitoring.
