Healthy eating habits

  • Old age slows down the digestive system; therefore it is recommended to consume foods containing high-fibre and low in saturated fats; like fruits, vegetables, seafood, lean meats, poultry, eggs and whole grains such as oatmeal, whole-grain bread, and brown rice.
  • Low-fat dairy products, almonds, rice, drinks with added vitamin D and calcium are also good for health.

Socialize with family and friends

  • Spend time with family, grandchildren and friends to stay active. If your loved ones or friends don’t stay nearby then make video phone calls to them, it will make you feel better.
  • If you don’t have any social life then try to make new friends, take interest in hobbies or become a volunteer.
