A Covid-19 vaccine is required to provide immunity against coronavirus infection, the virus causing coronavirus disease (Covid-19). It is an important tool to bring coronavirus pandemic under control, along with other precautions.
Two Covid-19 vaccines in India were approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Covishield and Covaxin. Sputnik – V has been permitted EUA in April 2021. Indian Government has also permitted Indian pharma company Cipla to import Moderna vaccine, which is nearly 95% effective against Covid-19.

Individuals above 18 years are all eligible for Covid-19 vaccination. Book your Covid-19 vaccine registration online on Co-WIN or Aarogya Setu or UMANG platform.
As per the Government of India, the following documents are mandatory for taking vaccine –
Carry identity proof (Aadhaar card/ Passport /Voter Id/ driving license) mentioned by you at the time of registration on the Co-WIN app or Aarogya Setu or Umang and a printout/screenshot of your appointment slip. Reach the vaccination centre on the fixed date and time.
What are the precautions before and after the Covid-19 vaccination?
Things to do before vaccination –
-Ensure a sound sleep to be well recharged
– Eat healthy food before going for vaccination
-Avoid too processed or heavy foods a day before
-Drink liquids that can keep you hydrated
-Avoid alcohol or other intoxicants on the vaccination day, as it may dehydrate you
-Schedule your essential work commitments for some other day
– Prefer wearing sleeveless or short-sleeved clothes to assist in getting the injection on your arm.
-During the day of vaccination, wear a double mask, carry a sanitiser and follow social distancing
Things to do after vaccination –
-After taking the vaccine, wait for 30 minutes and observe for any side effects
– Do not panic in case of vaccine side effects
-Consult your doctor if you feel nausea, allergy, dizziness, etc
-Do not overexert yourself and take enough rest
-Avoid alcohol and smoking
-Drink fluids to keep yourself hydrated
–Exercise your arm to ease the pain at the injection site
