• Prolactinimia describes the state where the prolactin levels are not steady. It can occur in both males and females. The state in which prolactin Levels are low is called Hypopituitarism and it only affects women as men are supposed to have low prolactin levels one can identify this by symptoms and problems like:
• Infertility: problem in conceiving due to insufficient prolactin affecting reproduction hormones.
• Irregular Menstruation: Changes in Menstruation cycles and absence of menstruation(amenorrhea).
• Inhibited lactation: difficulty producing milk after childbirth

• The state in which prolactin levels are high is called hyperprolactinemia and it affects both men and women as both men and women are not supposed to have high prolactin levels
• Galactorrhea: Spontaneous milk production from the breasts unrelated to breastfeeding or pregnancy.
• Menstrual Irregularities: irregular periods, infrequent periods (oligomenorrhea), or absence of periods (amenorrhea).
• Infertility: Difficulty conceiving due to disrupted ovulation or menstrual cycles.
• Erectile Dysfunction: Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection in men.
• Headaches: Especially if related to a pituitary gland tumour (prolactinoma).
• Vision Changes: If a prolactinoma affects the optic nerve, leading to visual disturbances.
• Bone Density Loss: Due to decreased estrogen levels in women, which can occur with prolonged hyperprolactinemia.
